Banff National Park

During our visit to Canada we stayed at the Tunnel Mountain RV Park in Banff, Alberta.  Pictures on this page were taken from the park.  In mid-August the daytime temperatures were in the 70's, nighttime temperatures were in the 40's.  You could see a light dusting of new snow on the upper mountain peaks.

Almost perfect weather, awakening to the sound of birds singing, watching the Columbian ground squirrels and looking out upon these fantastic views made our stay a pleasure.

The Banff Springs Hotel can be seen at the base of Tunnel Mountain at the right center of this picture.  The Bow River winds its way through the valley and along the Banff Golf Course which is located in the lower left.

Early one morning we were startled to hear the sound of hoof beats coming down our street.

To our amazement a herd of 47 elk were making their way through the RV park!
