The group makes a short rest stop between Durango and Silverton.   The Senator is to the right, wearing the red headband.  Colorado does not require helmets and Pat and I took full advantage of the freedom.

Right:  We enjoyed funnel cakes at the Rocky Mountain Funnel Cakes & Cafe.  The mountain air certainly ignites one's appetite.

Below:  Streets of Silverton.  The small former mining town is the northern terminal of the Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railway.  The Senator was an excellent tour guide, describing in some detail the town's history.
