San Diego
to Seattle

Interstate 5 near Grapevine, California.
Roe reattaches the rear brake pedal which came loose due to sloppy work by a Harley mechanic.

Route 166 between I-5 Santa Maria is typical of the beautiful but desolate country in which we were traveling when Roe's brakes fell apart.

Coast Guard station at Morro Bay.
Roe's son is a first-year Cadet at the Coast Guard Academy.

Looks like those Morro Rocks could come fall any minute!

Sunset on Route 166.  Nothing but two lane road through a beautiful canyon which we could only glimpse after dark.  The temperature dropped quickly after sunset and two cold riders pulled into Arroyo Grande for the night.

These seals are sleeping like sardines on the warm sand.
Occasionally one would use her flippers to throw more warm sand on her back.

These tourists from Holland wanted Woody's picture with his bike.
We reciprocated.  Two of the many people we met along the way who were interested in the Harleys and two guys traveling around the country.

The beautiful California coast shrouded in fog.

A small wayside restaurant.
The ocean is just across the road and the view was magnificent.
