Abandoned rodeo rink near Boulder, Utah.

The Dixie National Forest.
In Utah?
Yep!
Here's proof!

One section of the highway is built along a ridge.

Almost no shoulders along the road.
You feel as if you're flying!

The road below makes two 180 degree turns as it winds its way up the mountain.

What do you do in Tropic, Utah, on a hot Sunday afternoon?

You stand on the corner and watch traffic go by.

These three mules turned their heads to watch me as I came down the road and rode by.  I thought it was odd, so I turned around and rode back.  They again turned their heads and watched me as I rode by.  I stopped to take their picture and they turned their heads to watch me.  Guess they were bored on a Sunday afternoon in Tropic.

The small towns I passed through in southern Utah on the way to Zion were all deserted.  Not a soul to be seen on the streets.  No stores open.  Just an occasional tourist passing by.
