You can't get a perspective about the scale from these pictures, but these mountains are HUGE!

The pictures do nothing to convey the scale of the mountains.  For example, this picture was taken at full telephoto with my camera.  Although it looks like simply snow on a ridge, the mountain is so high that you would not be able to see a person standing on the top with the naked eye and would have great difficulty seeing them with average power binoculars.  The snow must be hundreds of feet thick.
