The Fourth Corner!

Madawaska, Maine

Key West to San Ysidro to Homer to Madawaska

We have now traveled
to all four corners of the United States
 drivable on paved roads.

Roe poses just inside the US  in Madawaska, Maine.
Neither of us could quite believe that we had accomplished our goal at this point.

Woody at the US Border in Madawaska.

One of the border guards asked Roe whether we were doing the "4-Corners", a trip that includes riding to the four corners of the lower 48 states.  Roe told him that we were, except that one of our corners was Alaska!  I think he was more impressed than we were!

Plourde's Harley-Davidson
Caribou, Maine

The northeastern most Harley-Davidson dealer in the United States.
Another milestone (and T-shirt) for us.

After visiting the northeastern most Harley dealer, we stopped to reflect for a moment on what we had accomplished.

One more goal in mind, we set out for the easternmost point in the United States, Lubec, Maine.

Despite weather and bike problems, there had never been a day on the trip when I wasn't excited about getting on the Harley and riding!

The enormity of the trip and our accomplishment hit us when we saw the Quoddy Head lighthouse near Lubec, Maine.

Quoddy Head is the easternmost point in the United States.
The setting was beautiful, somehow fitting of such a long trip.

High fives in celebration!

The couple who took this picture were bikers and could not believe we had just made the trip we described.
