Roe decided to ride to Paige, Arizona, to surprise wife Pam.
I continued on to Torre, Utah.

A sign at the intersection where we parted said, "No Services Next 54 miles".  They weren't kidding.  Not only were there no services, but there were no houses or barns, and only a handful of cars along the 54 mile stretch of road.  I stopped on the center line of the highway to take this picture.  No worry about being run over!

Roe's route to Paige, Arizona, was about the same.  No services, no traffic, just straight road and hot as blue blazes.

Beautiful country.  Desolate and Hot!

Capital Reef National Park

Over the past couple of days we had two near misses with deer.
We left skid marks outside of Ouray, Colorado, as a deer ran just in front of us.  Then we watched
a deer leap just in front of Roe while riding over Lizard Pass near Telluride.

While crossing Capital Reef National Park I saw this buck standing behind a tree at the side of the road.  I slowed.  He didn't move.  I stopped.  He still didn't move.  There we sat, eyeing one another down.  I got the camera and starting shooting.  He watched me for a minute, then casually crossed the road.

Guess he was just checking the out the Harley!
